History

Sindnet, the Support Institutions Development Network for Sindh, formally instituted in 1994 at a meeting of its founding members (the NRSP, TVO, SPO, OXFAM and NGORC), was defined as “a national NGO working in Sindh, involved in institutionally strengthening voluntary organizations.” The core group of the Sindnet included the above-mentioned organizations as well as the IUCN that joined later that year. It was then that all matters ranging from its institutional and legal status to the scope, resources, membership and other functions were finalized.

Mission Statement

To strengthen the NGO sector in Sindh (in particular) and Pakistan (in general) through information sharing, advocacy and promotion of co-ordination between support institutions for equitable and sustainable development.

Sindnet maintains good relationships with other networks for their capacity building and that of its own member organizations.
