SINDNET
is the network of National support institutions involved
in strengthening voluntary organizations. Support institutes are
characterized by the effective mobilization, providing technical
assistance, financial support and networking with other support
institutions NGOs/CBOs. SINDNET was formally established in 1994
by its founding members.
Objectives
- To foster greater collaboration,
and prevent conflicts and duplication among its members.

To develop consensus on policy dialogues among its
members and to advocate the cause of the NGO sector with other
stockholders.
- To share ideas on development
issues, approaches and information exchange through progress,
discussions and the lesson learnt.
- To share resources and mutually
strengthen its members.
- To co-ordinate with other institutions
including networks at the Provincial, National and International
levels.
- To organize lectures, seminars
and training workshops for capacity building of its member institutions.
- To promote and strengthen the
sectoral network in Pakistan particularly in Sindh.

History
Sindnet,
the Support Institutions Development Network for Sindh, formally
instituted in 1994 at a meeting of its founding members (the NRSP,
TVO, SPO, OXFAM and NGORC), was defined as a national NGO
working in Sindh, involved in institutionally strengthening voluntary
organizations. The core group of the Sindnet included the
above-mentioned organizations as well as the IUCN that joined later
that year. It was then that all matters ranging from its institutional
and legal status to the scope, resources, membership and other functions
were finalized.
Mission Statement
To
strengthen the NGO sector in Sindh (in particular) and Pakistan
(in general) through information sharing, advocacy and promotion
of co-ordination between support institutions for equitable and
sustainable development.
Sindnet
maintains good relationships with other networks for their capacity
building and that of its own member organizations.
